. . . this weekend was a few luxurious moments to catch up on a little reading, afternoons in the warm late-winter sunshine and late lunches at old favourite places; there were also renovations—[contractors and things being built, a maddeningly fine dust falling over everything]—but also, the wonderful feeling of things accomplished and being steps closer to all the projects and plans that have begun some time ago; and there dinner at a new italian restaurant, glasses of montepulciano d'abruzzo and today, so much sunlight, it feels as if spring might arrive at any moment . . .
hope you've had [are having] a perfectly lovely [long] weekend, and that it's beautiful where you are, —roséline xo[a few lovely links below] x

. . . it always seems, about this time of year, am ready to throw open the windows to the bright sunlight, in wild anticipation for springtime, and so, it is not difficult to imagine one being hopelessly drawn this perfectly romantic home, with its dusky lavender walls and pooling drapes of the same hue, its tufted linen chairs and carved settees, scalloped and gilded and mirrored accents, its florals and lucite may bring on bouts of spring fever at any moment . . .

. . . the place is in a state of disarray, for, instead of spring cleaning, it's winter cleaning, for, as you know, currently in the midst of some very exciting things that involve a bit of upheaval, and so, this weekend is red wine in cut crystal glasses, films and flower shops and photographs, a romantic dusting of snow on these [cosy] chilly nights, and love, love, love . . .hope you're having an astonishingly wonderful weekend, and that it's beautiful where you are, roséline xoCONTINUE ---------------------------------->

. . . lounging about on a monday morning must certainly be one of the greatest luxuries, and that is how the day began, the sun streaming through the gauzy sheers, and after, the café and the shops, dinner, [all of us together again], a glass of proseco and conversations long into the night, and today, it's another dinner a little way out of town, and had nearly forgotten how wonderful it is to have these beautiful [nearly forgotten] moments of perfect repose . . .

above, boxes, books and art from china and paris flea markets. . . must confess, has been far too long since have stopped to pick up a magazine, but after happening upon this dramatic and stunning home featured in house beautiful on anna's blog last week, had immediately made a note to purchase the digital version for the ipad, but after stopping by the bookstore on the way home one night, and gazing upon this west hollywood home again, completely fell in love with the glossy pages and this breezy take on traditional . . .

. . . if for some reason, this maximalist heart were to live in an ultra-modern & minimalist space, it would be, perhaps, in this greenwich village pied à terre, for the wonderful bits of gold artfully scattered about -- the gilded frames and hanging pendants, and most of all, the astonishingly spectacular coffee table, [a work of art] -- would make it all worthwhile . . .

{p.s.} although must confess, quite certain would last not two minutes in the kitchen, before covering the walls in art, adding more gold, and, many, many bouquets of roses in crystal vases . . .{images: magdalena keck interior design via desire to inspire}

. . . always and eternally in love with summer, and while others are gliding gracefully down the mountain side, am normally the one sitting prettily by the fire, wrapped in cashmere and sipping brandy or hot chocolate with marshmallows, waiting for summer's return, and dreaming of warmer climates to see out the long wintry months ahead; of course, winter's chilly days would be no match if spent gazing out the enormous picture windows at the spectacular views outside of aerin lauder's aspen ski chalet among the silver birches, with its reclaimed cypress boards and wire-brushed oak, white walls and bed linens, cosy reading corners and floods and floods of light . . .

{p.s.} also interesting : the interior designer for the chalet was daniel romualdez, who also designed the tory burch boutique, on madison, featured here a few weeks ago -- interesting to compare the two vastly different styles......................................................................................................{also:} more mountain décor
