{style inspiration | two lovely things : white & fuchsia}

. . . positively adore bright colours in the springtime, but nearly always on others, for here, it's lacy whites and billowy pastels—and yet, at a time of year when the brightness of longer days beautifully envelopes everything, it's nearly impossible not to be drawn to shades of tangerine and cerise, and daffodil silk, and most of all, fuchsia, so elegantly chic when paired with white, that it may be time to fall headfirst . . .

{late friday musings & hello}

hello-header2
ny-eye-poetry1

. . . hello! . . . the week has very much gotten away, as you can imagine [where does the time go?], but as the philosophy here is always better late than never, shall still share a few last and lovely things before the weekend, even as most have already dashed off for much-anticipated after-office cocktails, but in the event there are a few moments here & there, stop by if you like, especially for the beautiful diy had mentioned earlier in the week . . .

à bientôt‎ / see you soon, —roséline xo

{back again & a brand new week}

monday-monday-hed
olsen

. . . and after traipsing about in lyon, geneva, annecy & paris for the past ten days, long-lost family and some seen only recently, grainy old photographs, conversations in french, red wine and happy memories, and after only a day back again with cases still unpacked and so much to catch up on, it's monday, monday and very much back to work, on a brand new week positively filled with beautiful things: a new {favourite five}, as well as the second installment of {take me a way}, sarah's new travel series, and of course, a million photographs from recent travels, near & far, but first, a glimpse at the mountain lodge from a few weeks past . . .

happy monday! it's lovely to see you again -- hope you had a beautiful weekend & that your week is off to a perfect start, roséline xo

{happy autumn + have a beautiful weekend}

happy-weekend-pink

. . . and it would seem that september whirled by more quickly than the rest, and suddenly, it is autumn, and as promised, have been adding dashes of white, here & there, for just a few moments longer, at least until the leaves begin to fall, [although must confess, beginning to fall in love with the thought of cosy sweaters and romantic nights by the fire], and while things may have been happily filled with busy-ness the past few weeks, this weekend has been a perfect change of pace, filled with sunshine and saturday markets, and today, perhaps brunch, the flower markets and a walk along the water . . .

hope you're having a magical autumn weekend, and that it's beautiful where you are, roséline xo

{bright mornings & busy days . . .}

hello-header
colour-blocking2

. . . the day began as a whirlwind and happily slowed down {just a little} with an early morning stop at the farmers' market for apples, honey comb, pecan butter tarts & two of the most enormous, and romantically fragrant bouquets of pink peonies {if you're on twitter, you may have already heard} and somehow we have arrived at wednesday already and there is still much to catch up on, and so many wonderful things to do . . . and of course, a little behind on a million blog posts, and hopefully can complete a few today, including this week's favourite five, and there are so many other beautiful things to tell you . . .

. . . while it may feel like the weeks are whirling by lately, each day brings us a little closer to the loveliest time of all, and new weeks are such wonderful things, {this one being filled with photo shoots and plans, letters, emails, and late-lunch dates} . . . and so, for today, the prettiest pencil skirt and a romantic ruffled blouse, a perfect trench with the sleeves pushed back and it's monday, monday . . .

{favourite five: photographer garance doré}

favourite-five-hed
garance-1.4

The New York Times refers to her as “the guardian of all style”, her beau calls her the “Illustratoriste” for her commended work as a fashion illustrator, Vogue.com named her one of the 40 women of the decade . . . clearly, French fashion blogger and photographer Garance Doré’s ultra-stylish influence has been felt by not only the fashion world, but the world at large.

garance-1

Whether she is covering fashion week in Milan, snapping portraits of fashionistas in New York, posting personal chatty, witty -- yet simply charming -- monologues, sharing her photographs from the latest French Vogue editorial she shot, or displaying her collages and fashion illustrations, the street-style photographer & fashion illustrator's blog evokes a style that goes far beyond trends: the scope of her work is timeless and chic; it is for this reason, the fashion world is at her feet.

garance-2
above: snaps of doré & a feature in interview magazine

Garance’s musings give us a rare glimpse into the thoughts of a fabulously stylish Parisian woman, and even though her posts imply French women are the masters when it comes to effortless style, they still have a few tricks up their sleeves, and this week, she lets us in on some of her style secrets . . .

......................................................................................................

{the top five things french women never leave home without:}

1.
Baume Crème de Rose from Dior, for the pot & the perfectly pouty lips.

2.
A pair of sunglasses -- to provide mystery!

3.
A book by Françoise Sagan because she has an incredible perspective on life and was so rock'n roll -- in the French way, of course.

4.
A pair of Repetto ballet flats (the real dancer ones with very soft soles) -- great after long hours in heels.

5.
A pen. To write, of course, but also to put your hair up when you're tired of having it in your face. I don't know why, but every French girl does that!

. . . can never get enough of detail shots {an all-time favourite being this one}, and whether soft leather gloves and geometric bangles, french structured handbags and gold vintage watches, there is something about the intermingling of these beautiful little details that seems to say so much . . .

{p.s.} & while we're on the topic of clutches, day & night
