{a new week | so much beauty & hello}

hello-header2
elie-saab-bs2

elie-saab-bs3

. . . more backstage photographs at elie saab have surfaced, and they are, to be certain, as exquisitely lovely as the last, and as such, impossible to resist -- the enchanting glimpses of little moments and astonishingly beautiful details are spectacularly lovely . . . and this week has already begun much busier than the last, and so, things may be a little sporadic here & there, but there are a million new and beautiful things to get lost in and to share, and so it goes . . .

hope you had a wonderful weekend, and that your week is off to a perfect start, —roséline xo

{p.s.} if you're new or only just arriving : this week's stunning give-away

. . . perhaps it is the utter romance of it all, or the intoxicating concoction paillettes, lace and ruffles, but whatever the reason may be, am always awaiting, with wild anticipation, for the next elie saab collection, which never fails to enchant with its day dresses made for dreaming and evening gowns made for dancing in the moonlight, and never, ever fails to completely take one's breath away . . .

. . . for last year's new year's eve festivities, it was a silvery lavender silk crepe dress, accessorized, of course, with a party tiara and hand-held sparklers; this year, sheer, lacy, and sprinkled with a million glittery paillettes may be just the thing . . .

. . . a more luxuriously low-key weekend would not have been possible, for this time, [and the first in quite some time], there were no set plans, travel or otherwise -- only half-thoughts, whims & fancies, all fallen by the wayside, in favour of easy mornings and elegant dinners, the blustery romance of autumn at every turn and candlelight against dark windowpanes on early evenings, and later, ambling walks, leather boots and leaves, long cashmere scarves and very warm thoughts . . .

hope you've had a magical late-october weekend, and that it's beautiful where you are, roséline xo

. . . if you have been reading for a while, you undoubtedly know about about a longstanding love affair with elie saab, and especially, for said designer's penchant for sequins by daylight, dramatic draping, billowy fabrics, pleats and perfectly pretty party dresses, and while previous collections my have been about pale & pretty neutrals, the spring 2012 collection, while still awash in beautiful sequins and filled with glamour, is all about colour . . .

{favourite five: rent the runway}

favourite-five-hed
runway-new

It's almost wedding season and aside from new beginnings and catching bouquets, there is just one thing on everybody's mind: what to wear? Jennifer Hyman and Jenny Fleiss have the most delightful solution, and it involves a mountain of haute couture and never having to wear the same gown twice.

Jennifer and Jenny, who met at Harvard, realized they were not the only ones who adored high-end fashion, whether for black-tie affairs or casual first dates, used their backgrounds in business and entrepreneurial spirit to launch, Rent the Runway, a membership-only designer rental company where women can rent dresses and accessories from over 100 of the most luxurious labels including Herve Leger, Proenza Schouler, Missoni and Badgley Mischka for only 10 percent of the retail price,
making shopping in Carrie Bradshaw's closet no longer something in our dreams . . .

runway-copy

. . . and since Jennifer and Jenny's mission is to assist modern-day Cinderellas find the perfect dress to whisk away Prince Charming, we naturally wanted to know which dresses were the most sought after, so we sat down with them this week to find out:

......................................................................................................

{the top five most coveted dresses}

5. Jenny Fleiss: "All Herve Leger dresses do incredibly well on Rent the Runway. It’s such an iconic brand. The Berry Ombre Dress is a top rental as customers have really been drawn to one shoulder dresses the past several months."

4. Jennifer Hyman: "The teal Yigal Azrouel dress is also a top pick -- again, one shoulder dresses are really on trend right now. "

3. Jenny Fleiss: "For any girl looking for a classic mini dress, the Robert Rodriguez Black Label Sequin Insert Mini is a popular choice. Black is flattering on every body type and what girl doesn’t love sequins!"

2. Jennifer Hyman: "The Badgley Mischka Screen Siren Gown is arguably the Rent the Runway dress that makes the biggest statement. For any girl attending prom, a formal wedding, or red carpet event, this is the dress that is most sought after."

1. Jennifer Hyman: "The Key Hole Goddess Gown by Nicole Miller has been an all time hit -- it looks great on every skin tone and is especially popular this time of year with prom and spring weddings approaching."

{a brand new feature at this is glamorous}

favourite-five-hed
chloe-s

{favourite five: chloë sevigny}

. . . chloë sevigny, actress, fashion celebrity and muse to alber elbaz at lanvin, dolce and gabbana, stefano pilatie, and yves saint laurent, set herself apart with her much-celebrated and unrivaled style choices long before the existence of street-style blogs; her often eclectic and always fearless approach to fashion and design also spills over into the rooms of her home, resulting in, perhaps, the most talked about hallway in design blog history . . .

hallway

. . . one of the 50 most influential people in new york fashion, sevigny
has just unveiled a brand new line for opening ceremony, and today, she shares with us:

five favourite prints
1. polka dots
2. leopard
3. paisley
4. houndstooth
5. floral

. . . these are the five prints chloë has loved since she was a teen, and she tells us they are the “prints she has always come back to” -- so much so, that they have also been incorporated into her new line, showing
that a touch of classic pattern splashed over modern design always results in something glamorous . . .
